I found the attached info and put it into a word document. There was a Frederick Mayberry that bought or was deeded land from a Lyon in NC. This may play in because I believe that Mary Ashley's ancestors may have come from NC or there abouts.

I found the info interesting...however I do not think this is our ancestor. Attached is the following info I have of Frederick Mayberry that purchased land in Wilkes Co., NC.
Frederick Maberry married Elisabeth Watkins in Warren Co., NC on March 24, 1790. Frederick migrated to Wilkes Co., NC and then to Overton Co., TN. He had a son, Frederick, Jr. who married Rachel Barnes. Frederick, Jr. & Rachel remained in the Overton/Clay Co. areas of TN.
Mary Ashley's father was born around 1782 in North Carolina according to the 1850 census. The 1880 census for Mary lists her parents being from Mississippi. The 1880 census for her brother Edward Ashley lists the parents birthplace as Louisiana.
Mary and Edward were born in Louisiana. There is a good chance that their birth mother was born in Mississippi or Louisiana. I do think the father was indeed born in North Carolina. I do not think there was any Ashley connection to the Mayberry Family till after 1830 in Ballard Co., Kentucky. I think the only connection is through a marriage between Frederick's son and William's daughter.
