November 19, 2008 - Lorow Website

Not sure if I added to my last email that Thomas Lorow was listed on the census records with Thomas and Nancy Owens - as their grandson.

****************************

You have mentioned awhile back that William F. Lorow was a grandson of Thomas & Nancy Owens and was listed with them in the 1930 census. He was listed as 9 years old. I looked up and found a William F. Owens living on Vine St. in Coudersport age 87. That would make him born in 1921. Vine St was the last residence of Nancy Owens. I believe that this is their grandson who was William Lorow. He is probably still living in the same house.

I think you mentioned before that you sent a letter. I think we are going to need to place a phone call to the residence. Let me know if you plan to call him or if you prefer I place the call. I will keep my fingers crossed that he is receptive and still has an intact memory. He may be one of the few people still living who could answer our questions about the Shay/Mayberry line.

*******************************

I sent my correspondence to Clayton Rossman who wasl also living on Vice Street. He was the husband of Nancy Lee Owens do Orville and Mildred Owens and gd of Thomas and Nancy Shay.

If you don't mind, I'll let you place the call.

I have found some old maps of PA counties and want to mark out where Wm, Frank, Ira all lived. I'll try to send you copies of the old maps.
