You were correct, Mrs. Marshall is Annie. Annie was the wife of Isaac H. Marshall who died in Scott Co. in Jan 1948. I cannot find Annie, Bessie, or Stephen's death certificates. They must have died after the 1950's.

When your father went to visit out to Missouri that might have made the newspapers. Back in the day, newspapers always mention when relatives or people from out of town were in town to visit. Your dad would have been there 1930's to early 1940's??? We may want to check to see if anyone recorded the visit in area newspapers.

Did your father go to Missouri to find the Shay homestead or did he happen to be in the area for other reasons? If he went out there solely to visit the homestead then he probably had contacts out there and knew where to find it. There must have been talk between Kate, George & Jim about this homestead at the time leaving me to believe they knew alot on the family.

Is there any chance your father would have had a cousin join him? George Heath's son Albert would have been near the same age as your father and was big into family history as was his father. I could ask Albert's daughter Tonie Heath Schramm if she knows anything.

I came across a couple of more articles - one Stephen Peal's 50th anniversary. There's quite a few articles on the Marshall Reunion - I checked on ancestry and there definitely appears to be an Native American connection there.

I found some info on Ida Belle Pinkerton as well. I picked up some other names.

My Dad did go out with 2 other people. One could have been Albert. I know one was Aunt Georgie's brother -- Nigel Long. There had to be some contact; otherwise, I don't think my Dad would have gone out there.

Good suggestion on searching for my Dad's name.

I also tried to find some info on the hotel that Jane Peal was supposedly ran/owned, etc.
