February 13, 2008

I was wondering how your granddaughter's birthday was and if you had a chance to speak to your Aunts and Uncles. Also I was wondering where you are finding the death certificates. Are they on Ancestry.com or are you ordering them. Let me know because I couldn't find that feature on Ancestry.com.

My mother's cousin has sent me a photo of Jane Heath, sister of William Heath and wife of Oscar Crandall. She is going to send me pictures of William Heath and Jane Shay soon. I will forward on the pics to you.

I will talk to you later.

The party was great. Always a joy to see my son and his family.

I didn't get a chance to see anyone - I left late on Friday afternoon and came back mid-day on Sunday hoping to miss the storm - NOT. It was terrible driving back to Syracuse.

However, I did receive an email from my Uncle Bobby - he didn't remember very much family history. I'm hoping to see him the next time I go home.

On Saturday, I tried calling my Aunt Georgie but she was out of town.

I've made some contacts with people on Ancestory - one with the Bakers - Rachel has agreed to review her notes -- there's a picture in the Reunion book of the Baker Homestead and Oriel Seely Bassett (Herbert's sister) is in it.

I also found a picture of Oriel Seely (I believe this is Oriel Seely that is the sister of my grandfather Ira. On the picture, there is a handwritten note: Oriel Seely Heath, Benson(?, Manny(?), Dingman. I knew Oriel was married several times but never knew she was married to a Heath. Did you know about this?

The website for the death certificates is the State of Missouri's Secretary of State - I literally would look at every certificate for any and all names starting with SH and/or MA - ... I've attached Jane's certificate for you as well as several pictures from the Family Reunion book.

I'll be back in touch in a few days - I'm typing a thesis.
