I don't have anymore information on the Heath family than Jeremy has.. I don't remember Uncle Jim and Aunt Zella having any children.

I don't remember anyone mention that mom had a brother named William. So I can't be of any help.

Thanks for the email. The census records indicate he may have died when he was 16. Jeremy heard he may have drown.

Jeremy has indicated he may be able to get some pictures of the early Heaths, particularly one in a Civil War uniform.

I'm trying to trace the Shay/Mayberry descendants of Jane Shay. I've located some Mayberry's and Shay's on the Cherokee Indian Nation census records - Jeremy is checking this out. I've also located someone in Missouri that may be a direct descendant to Rebecca Jane or Jane Peal. She was James Shay's 2nd wife and she collected his civil war pension.

I will keep you posted on our research. I do it from time to time then I hit a wall and stop. I then find something and I get excited and start working on it again.
