February 25, 2008 - Peals in McCracken/Ballard Counties
I've been searching the Tippy branch this weekend - and found interesting that there is a woman - Nancy Spiller who was a "doctor" who used herbs, etc., "many of women were saved by this Nancy."
There's a Nancy Spiller that is listed in Scott County - will pdf the files tomorrow and send you copies.
Also, just a few minutes ago I decided to check on the Stephen Peal that Rebecca Withrow married after James Shay died. It appears that Stephen may have returned to Martin, NC - and died there in Sept 1892. However, what is most interesting that there were several Peals in Ballard/McCracken counties - along with some Allens.....
I came across a picture of the John R. Tippy and Mary Robena Mayberry's home in MO and a picture of Martha and Mary Mayberry (twins).... I'm pretty sure these would be Margaret's first cousins. I found these on a new website - AncientFaces.com
I've attached the pictures for your review.

Wow,
That is a lot of information. I wrote to the Ballard Historical Soceity about the Mayberry family. They have an ancestrial family chart of the Mayberry's and I am hoping to hear from them soon. They also have marriage records from 1852-present. I am hoping that the marriage of James Shay to Margaret Mayberry could be in there. I figured it probably took place bet 1860-1861. Also if they send me a chart of the Mayberry family, we may be able to identify all the children of Frederick and Elizabeth Mayberry and their birthdates.
I am still waiting patiently on more pictures from my mother's cousin Tonie. I am hoping to get a picture of Jane Shay Heath and send it on to you. I think Tonie has been really busy lately. I still plan on heading out to Potter County in July to see my uncle Justin.
I will talk to you later.
